Microsoft Genuine Fact Files
Video / Digital / email / Print
Project: Microsoft needed to educate their worldwide subsidiaries and customers about the many risks of counterfeit software, and convince them to execute their Genuine Fact Files marketing templates.
Challenge: Learning about software licensing is not an exciting undertaking, so we needed to find a way of making the communication fun and entertaining.
Solution: We created “Genuine Fact Files” – a campaign that communicated the risks of using pirated software via an edgy graphic novel video execution. A series of videos was created, with each story focusing on a different form of piracy, how it became a problem, and what to do about it. Online banners, flyers, emails, postcards and graphic novels were also created to support the campaign.
Results: 33 out of 91 worldwide subsidiaries executed the Genuine Face Files marketing templates. This adoption rate of 36% far exceeded the client’s expectation of 20% adoption.
My Role: Helped concept ideas, art direction, and layout design for each video. Also collaborated with animators, artists, and directors throughout the process. Art directed banner ads, emails, flyers and postcards.
